What is the CULT Short Film Awards all about?
CSFA is a multi-staged content CULT Short Film Awards aimed to provide a platform for new age short filmmakers and bridging the talents with the profession Sandalwood film fraternity to make it realize they're of becoming professional filmmakers for the silver screen.

Unlike any other short film contest and award distribution event, CSFA is creating an industry-bridging platform where professional film producers, directors, distributors, and exhibitors, digital & OTT experts.

CSFA is unique where that filmmaking talents can fulfill their dream of becoming mainstream filmmakers by participating in the short filmmaking online contest and awards event that happens and spread across approximately 60 days till the main award ceremony mega event backed with education series on every aspect of short filmmaking and smartphone filmmaking created and curated by industry’s expert professionals.

Who can participate?
Professional filmmakers and aspirant filmmakers of all ages, gender, and from any part of the world can participate for FREE!

What should the short film's language, genre, and originality be?
All the original short films should be in the Kannada language with subtitles in English in any listed genre. Should be original content exclusively made and submitted for CSFA only with CSFA branding collaterals.

Not even the repurposed content will not be considered and should be free from all copyright infringement.

Any restrictions on the number of short film submissions?
There is no limit to multiple short film submissions of different genres!

Can I submit a short film made using a smartphone?
Yes, we accept the entry of the short film made with smartphones. There will be a special category for smartphone smart films in all genres.

What should be the short film duration?
There will be three categories to it.
1.      Micro Short Film (Duration up to 5 min)
2.      Macro  Short Film (Duration up to 6 min -  20min)
3.      mini movie (Duration from 21 minutes and above 30min)

What will be the criteria and considerations for selection?
Award consideration will be based on a 50:50 ratio.
50%   Popularity on viewers' votes on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube and
50% of the jury votes will be considered for the selection and awards

Who owns the intellectual copyrights of submitted short films for the CSFA contest and awards?
All the intellectual property rights of the submitted short films will be the creators only but CULT FILM Awards holds the exclusive rights for 120 days only from the submission date to host it on all the CULT Film channels and platforms. The participants will not be allowed to host it on any of their platforms or channels including the content creator’s platform on any sort.

What will be the awards and rewards for the participants and winners?
Awards will be there in every category in these listed categories.

When and where is the CULT Short Film Awards happening
The CULT Short Film Awards is tentatively planned to have in the month of July 2023 in Bangalore at one of the major venues.

Is the CULT Short Film Awards will allow participants to promote their short films to their target audience at their own cost? 
Yes, all the participants can promote their short films using the CSFA’s exclusive content link only.

Is there any entry FEE or hidden charges for participation and awards?
This CSFA is FREE to submit and participate in. There will be no hidden charges or Fees. 

Can I attend all the final film award ceremony events
Yes, all the participants can attend the CSFA award ceremony event with prior registration and an invite from the CSFA team with your own cost and expenses.

Will there be an award ceremony for the challenges?
Yes, the winners of all the challenges of CSFA will be awarded during the CULT Short Film Awards. Kindly keep an eye out for the update from the CSFA team.

What are some of the general measures that ensure safety in all forms at the CULT Short Film Awards?
Harassment, abuse, stalking, threatening, or defaming/ violating any rights (right to privacy and publicity) is not allowed and will be taken seriously. Attendees are not allowed to carry any harmful substances, weapons, or arms of any kind
